Woodbine Cottage Reviews

Theresa
We had a lovely relaxing break away! The cottage was delightful. We found it to be warm, clean and cosy. The only thing that we found annoying was that we had to wash the utensils before using them the oven trays and pans were particularly grimy so this needs checking before the next people go in The oven also burnt a lot of our food on the top shelf , so maybe needs looking at. The shelf on the fridge door was also broken so we couldnt store the milk there. All in all instructions given were clear and straightforward regarding use of the hot tub and heating system which we used and were great full for as it was a rather chilly few days! We would stay again.
We loved our stay at Woodbine Cottage, it was the perfect getaway! Thanks so much
We booked through sykes cottages for the first time and can honestly say we will definitely be booking again through them . We had an amazing holiday in the Peak District and woodbine cottage was really nice cosy clean and comfy..it was well equipped and the hit tub was lovely..we all had the best time ever and there was so much to do near were we where staying we were out every day climbing rocks exploring caves and water falls..it was close to matlock and bakewell towns that had really nice shops and was easy to get to...sad to be home and can't wait to book out next holiday.would definitely go back to woodbine but with sykes cottages all over UK irland Scotland and Wales we have got so many more options...looking forward to booking more exciting adventures holidays.
Beverley
A little dated hot tub great, great for 2 people but only having 1 bathroom can be an issue for a group.
The cottage itself was everything we hoped for, it was clean, beds were comfortable and the robes and slippers a lovely touch. The hot tub was a different matter. The water was quite green to start with but we assumed had been treated ready for our arrival. The owner advised to test chlorine levels late evening or in the morning this was after our children had already used it on arrival. We could not get the chlorine levels up to a safe level due to insufficient chlorine available at the property and my son was referred to A&E with a serious ear infection within 4 days of leaving the property. Our advice is to test chlorine levels BEFORE YOU USE THE HOT TUB for your own safety. If it's below a safe level, don't use it. We notified the owner after we left, even showing photos of my son's ear antibiotics prescribed by the hospital, but we did not get a response.
We had a lovely stay over Easter. The cottage was as described and warm, clean and cosy when we arrived after a long journey! We loved the hot tub in the evening after a busy day. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and we appreciated the milk, coffee, tea and hot chocolate you left for us. The cottage was well situated for walks around the area, and there was a good walk behind the village. We were a little worried about being able to park close by after previous reviews but there was always plenty of spaces! We would definitely come back!
Catherine
Property was well equipped, comfortable and clean.

Has a lovely stay great location to all things nearby. Lovely view from the hot tub in the evening. Very thoughtful with little treats left for us. All you could need thought of and available.
Graham
Lovely comfortable cottage in a nice setting with good views and a cracking hot tub, what was there not to like apart from road closures everywhere on the route in a little gem. Pubs only 10 minutes away, good walking with panoramic views.
Trevor
Delightful little cottage. Beautifully furnished, well equipped, warm and cosy. Well recommended for a relaxing stay. Beds very comfortable. The hot tub a real delight. Would look at going again in the future.
We had our best stay in Woodbine cottage. Even though it rained heavily but the place was warm and cosy plus we had all we needed for our stay including pots and pans so making family meals was easy The kids loved playing the games and would definitely be back next year. Thank you for giving us a nice holiday
Has a wonderful stay at Woodbine Cottage and highly recommend. Lovely area, great facilities and the hot tub was brilliant. The cottage was decorated for Christmas which made our stay even more special. We definitely be back!
Lovely cosy little cottage, great facilities and location.
Joanne
Fab cottage well equipped for a short stay and great communication from the owner. Great location for a base to explore all the attractions of the peaks.
A beautiful cottage with a lovely garden area and hot tub. Very comfy beds with linen and towels provided which is a big bonus. The only downside for us was the parking, on the first couple of nights of our stay we had to park on the road a long long way from the cottage. Apart from that, we had an absolutely brilliant stay!
Lovely little cottage! Fantastic hot tub. Great base for exploring the Peak District!!
Lucinda
We had a peaceful family break and were pleased the kitchen was equipped to cook an Easter Sunday roast. Really helpful owners.
A beautiful property, which is well equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. Will be returning and recommending to friends and family.

We couldn't have asked for a better first get away than this my partner and I felt so at home and became even closer for it. Thank you.
Lovely cottage in an amazing location. The weekend we came to stay it was freezing cold, super thick frost everywhere but the cottage was so cosy and warm. The kitchen well equipped everything you need to stay. I must say the master bedrooms bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in so so comfortable. The hot tub was great freezing cold outside but the tub was so nice with a great view over the valley. Nothing negative all positive thanks for a great weekend with friends
Elizabeth
Fabulous cottage everything and more that you need for a few days away I wanted ... Fabulous cottage everything and more that you need for a few days away I wanted to take the bed home with me it was so comfortable wonderful setting tucked away in a corner overlooking wonderful views of countryside will most definitely be back and highly recommend this cottage the owners were very responsive to everything we asked too via email
A really lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Was well equipped and the wifi worked well everywhere!! Beds were comfy and my daughter loved the window seats. The hot tub was a wonderful luxury and the cottage had been decorated for Christmas making it the perfect festive break. We hope to be back!!
This property is lovely. Very comfortable for 4 of us for a long weekend. The jacuzzi was the icing on the cake, it looked quite new and very clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable and varied in size from single to super king although I would suggest bigger duvets for both the larger beds as they barely reached the edges of the bed. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans and cutlery and a table for 4 people I didnt notice if there was a spare chair for a fifth. The bathroom was small but functional once you got the hang of the shower. Allinall a good spot to stay for a trip to the Peak District for 2 couples or small family.
Lovely cottage in great location

We had a fabulous stay at Woodbine Cottage. Very cosy and comfortable. Very clean, nicely presented and appointed. The location was beautiful and quiet. The hot tub was excellent and a real standout for us. A really nice week away thank you.
A very welcomed gift of wine and biscuits await your arrival at this lovely place to stay, complete with hot tub. The cottage is set back from the main square where there is parking for your car. It is well kept, with plenty of room. The hot tub is perfect, providing a relaxing start to the day or after visiting the many places around and about. The temperature can be adjusted to suit your needs. The cottage is well equipped for the selfcaterer, as well as there being a number of pubs with restaurants nearby. Somewhere you can relax and refresh yourselves.
We had a lovely stay at Woodbine Cottage. It was our first trip away with our 3 month old baby, so we needed somewhere that we were comfortable spending a lot of time in if she was unsettled. The cottage was perfectly kitted out with everything we needed for our stay. The beds were very comfortable and it was lovely and cosy with the fire in the lounge. All of the photos were an excellent reflection of the cottage, everything was as described. The hot tub was also a real luxury after a big day of hiking! It was very helpful having direct contact with our hosts so we could get in touch with them if there were any issues although we didnt need to! and it made us feel a lot more comfortable knowing that we were speaking with the hosts directly. They also gave us some great recommendations for the area and were very helpful.
Hannah
Cozy cottage tucked away in a peaceful spot. Not far from Chatsworth house and Abraham heights which are both worth a visit. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub watching the birds in the trees. We had a lovely stay.
Michelle
The hot tub wasnt as clean as one would expect which was a little alarming. Some more pegs to hang wet clothes out would have been helpful. The bathroom needs some attention, especially the seal to the shower door. A mirror in all bedrooms would be useful. The crockery does not fitstack into the dishwasher so ended up washing up. The cottage accommodates for 5 but only 4 dining chairs. There were 5 of us altogether but only 2 robes and one pair of slippers? This in my opinion was high end in price so I expected a little more luxury. Some basic essentials for arrival would have been nice and weve experienced this at other places weve stayed. This was my only holiday this year with my two children. My friend joined us with her son. The children especially wished for a hot tub hence us choosing this cottage. The stay was lovely and we enjoyed it. Just a few things mentioned above that would have made it better. Good location and friendly neighbours. Bedding and towels nice. Good selection of leaflets with things to do and good games to use. Well equipped kitchen.
Claire
